چکیده

Introduction: Worldwide, six genera of the class Hydrozoa are recognized in continental waters: cosmopolitan Hydra, colonial Cordylophora and Pachycordyle, medusae Craspedacusta Limnocnida little polyp Calpasoma. Even though interest cnidarians has grown recent years, those restricted to freshwater continue be relegated there is even published information on ubiquity certain species. In Neotropical region, knowledge about its distribution still very scarce.
Methods: We reviewed global literature subject different online database platforms, presenting this work a nomenclator, including discussions status some species provide most identification key.
Results: This analysis reveals that 15 countries corresponding finding hydrozoans been reported. Panama, Brazil Argentina with highest number reports.
Conclusions: The heterogenity environments where these have found (from Strait Magellan Mexico) offers clear vision their wide great adaptability environments. study evidence gap exists hidrozoans importance systematizing current distribution, biology ecology, especially for considered invasive.

Species inventory and distribution patterns of freshwater amphipods in Moldova

Amphipod fauna of Moldova remains one of the least known in Europe with the most recent data upon species distribution being already almost 50 years old. In this paper, we summarize the knowledge upon the distribution of amphipods in Moldovan inland waters based on literature survey combined with our new original data and present a comprehensive checklist of recorded amphipod species. Records of oligochaetes in freshwater sponges, on bryozoans, and on colonial hydrozoans from Brazil.

Species of oligochaetes inhabiting other freshwater animals have been cited by Brinkhurst & Jamieson, 1980; Righi, 1984; Brinkhurst & Marchese, 1991. However, there are few published studies about the Brazilian species (Righi, 1984). Here, we report oligochaeta species inhabiting freshwater sponges, as well as on bryozoans and hydrozoans from some Brazilian aquatic ecosystems. The material was ...

Amphibian Diversity and Threatened Species in a Severely Transformed Neotropical Region in Mexico

Many regions around the world concentrate a large number of highly endangered species that have very restricted distributions. The mountainous region of central Veracruz, Mexico, is considered a priority area for amphibian conservation because of its high level of endemism and the number of threatened species. The original tropical montane cloud forest in the region has been dramatically reduce...
